Lab Services Ltd used to operate two veterinary laboratories at different sites, London Veterinary Diagnostics (Watford), and Compton Paddock Laboratories (Thatcham). Compton Paddock moved to Watford in 2006 and continuing to use different names has became unnecessary and confusing.  

Objective
Since it’s formation in 1995 Lab Services Ltd has been dedicated to provide a competent laboratory service to the veterinary profession using modern technology combined with professional excellence and personal care.

Philosophy
Lab Services Ltd is committed to supplying a first class service and excellent value for money.

Quality
In November 2010 Lab Services gained UKAS accreditation to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005.  Accreditation as a testing laboratory confirms our technical competence and is proof of our desire to constantly improve the quality and reliability of our service.

Policy

  • To supply a complete service for Haematology, Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Microbiology, Cytology, & Histology.
  • To ensure a reliable service we have two biochemistry and haematology analysers to virtually eliminate reporting delays due to instrument failure.
  • Rather than provide a host of profiles that are confusing and not cost effective LVD has a limited number of profiles to those that meet the demands of the majority of clinicians
  • Lab Services Ltd undertakes both internal quality control and is a member of external quality control schemes (NEQAS & Randox) to ensure result quality.
  • Our prices are for a results only service, but our pathologists are happy to discuss difficult cases at no extra charge
  • Our pathologists are experienced in legal procedures and can provide expert advice and representation to clients.

Clinical Director
Dr. Maurice Allen, DVSC, PhD, MSc, MRCVS, ECVPath, FRCPath, FBIAC - Dr Allen has a life time experience in the use of laboratory aids to diagnosis, with over 200 scientific publications, book chapters and articles to his credit.
Maurice is an examiner for the Royal College of Pathologists.

 

 

Pathologists
Dr. Jeremy Morgan MA, VetMB, PhD, MRCVS - Jeremy has worked as a veterinary microbiologist in both clinical and research settings for over 30 years.  He has an MSc in diagnostic veterinary pathology and a PhD in microbiology.  He has worked as a consultant for Compton Paddock Laboratories and now Lab Services Ltd for over 20 years.  He has a particular interest in post mortem examinations and use of microbiological techniques for investigation of clinical problems in companion animals.  Jeremy also advises on aspects of Quality Control, and was responsible for implementing the programme that led to our successful UKAS accreditation.

Dr. Alina Bodnariu, DVM, MSc, PhD, MRCVS – Alina gained her qualifications in Romania, and at the Royal Dick Veterinary School in Edinburgh, before joining Lab Services she worked for a veterinary group in Surrey. Alina is currently undertaking a part time course at the Royal Veterinary College.

Laboratory Manager
Roy McKinney, Roy has been with Lab Services Ltd since it's formation in 1996 he has 40 years experience in medical and veterinary laboratories, has managed large laboratories with up to 30 technicians in the U.K., Middle East, and Germany.

  • We have strict programme of internal quality control and participate in external quality control schemes (NEQAS & Randox)
  • We offer courier collection to most parts of London within the M25 please telephone for details
  • We will supply, reply paid bags, sample tubes, swabs and request forms free of charge on request.
  • We offer discounts on certain tests to users of VetScan biochemistry and haematology analysers
  • We will customise profiles on request
